MAJOR COLLECTOR

Streets that serve intracounty and intercommunity travel, but at a lower volume than arterials; they usually connect to an arterial to provide access to the surrounding land.  Access is generally not directly from this street but from a substreet connected to the collector.  They may serve community shopping areas, schools, parks and cluster developments.  The following streets are classified as major collectors " (reference the Marshall Township Comprehensive Plan of 1991): Wexford Run Road, Brush Creek Road, Knob Road, Freeport Road, Thorn Hill Road and Commonwealth Drive
