Chess Camp-June 26th-30th


June 26th -June 30th 

9 a.m. -12 p.m

Marshall/ Warren Room – Municipal Building. 

Ages 6-12-Open to all skill levels


Children ages 6 through 12 will gain exposure to effective chess strategy and tactics,will experience tournament-style chess play, and will participate in fun chess-related activities.

Chess sets, clocks, notation books and worksheets will be provided for use at the camp.

This camp will be appropriate for any child who is interested in chess from the beginner to intermediate level.

About the instructor-

Chess master Ben Johnson is an accomplished and experienced chess teacher and player.  He has taught kids of all skill levels, working with beginner to national championship-winning teams. During the school year Ben teaches chess classes and runs afterschool programs in the Pine-Richland School District, Avonworth, Colfax, Beechwood and at the Environmental Charter School.  For more information about Ben please visit

If there are more than 15 campers,  additional instructors will be provided as needed.
