Police protection is provided by the Northern Regional Police Department, an award-winning cooperative, under the direction of Chief John Sicilia.
The Force is currently staffed by a total of 35 full-time officers, 2 Administrative Assistants, and one K-9. Road patrol is routinely maintained 24 hours a day with 15 radio, video camera, computer equipped and connected to Harrisburg, patrol cars in use. Residents are encouraged to participate in Neighborhood Crime Watch and Block Parent programs, both of which are coordinated by Officer Scott Rick. Child Safety Seat Inspections
Due to the increased violations of child seat belt/restraint laws observed within the last year, Officer Wolfe of the Northern Regional Police Department would like to make Marshall residents aware of the child seat belt laws. The following are based on height and weight:
- Birth to age 4 must be in an approved child passenger restraint system/seat. (Five-point harness type seat).
- Ages 4 up to the age of 8 must be in a seat belt system (lap and shoulder, and a belt positioning booster seat.
If you are unsure as to proper fit and installation of your child’s safety seat you may call 412-367-5883) the McCandless/Franklin Park Ambulance Authority to make an appointment to have it inspected by a certified technician.
Vacation House Watch
The Northern Regional Police Department offers Marshall Township residents a Vacation House Watch program. Residents may contact the Police Department at 724-625-3157 to have their residence checked daily by the Police Department while they are away.

Northern Regional Police Department Entry Level Exam -
Full Time Police Officer Requirements: minimum age 21 yr., 2 yr college degree (60 college credits - 4 yr College preferred)
Required: must be Act 120 certified by June 30, 2019, US citizenship.
Applications may be obtained by applicant only at the Police Department, 230 Pearce Mill Road, Wexford, PA. (724) 625-3157, Mon-Fri, 8 AM-3 PM.
Applications must be completed and returned by applicant only by 3 PM - Monday, May 6, 2019. A $50.00 fee required with submission of application. Photo identification required when obtaining and submitting application. EOE
