At its November 20 public meeting, the Marshall Township Board of Supervisors voiced its support for future trails and sidewalks when it adopted the Pedestrian Network Master Plan and the Commodore Perry Regional Trail Plan. The purpose of the Master Plan is to provide a comprehensive pedestrian network that will link Marshall Township’s parks, natural areas, neighborhoods, business districts, schools, and adjacent municipalities.
The Commodore Perry Regional Trail is a collaborative plan between Bradford Woods Borough, Adams, Cranberry, Jackson, Marshall, and Pine Townships that involves creating new segments to link portions of existing trails including the North Country Trail and the Rachel Carson Trail. The goal is to eventually form a bicycle and pedestrian network traversing multiple jurisdictions and linking recreational amenities.
The hope is to supplement future Marshall Twp. trail and sidewalk construction with grant funding.
